fairly tame eyeshadow experiments

Thought I'd start off with a makeup look- this one isn't actually that old, it's from about a month ago when I was visiting my dad in Shanghai. I was experimenting with using pencil eyeliner (something I'd long disliked) in eyeshadow looks and, though I definitely need to find a pencil liner that's easier to work with for this purpose, I really liked it! Definitely going to try and buy some good pencil liners that don't immediately set and go patchy when I try to blend them out.

I wasn't actually going anywhere and this was spur of the moment, so it's not a totally finished look- I haven't put on mascara, concealer, or filled in my eyebrows properly, but the basics are there.

Eyes:
-Paul & Joe Eye Gloss duo in Nice
-Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Liner in Brown
-Anastasia Tinted Brow Gel in Brunette

Face:
-Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation in 51 Vanille Claire
-Illamasqua Cream Pigment in Androgen

Lips:
-Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple

I apologise for my facial expression, though it's fairly appropriate considering this blog's title.
The brow gel I'm using is actually too light/warm-toned for me, so it tends to tone down my almost-black eyebrows. It's passable now that I'm blond, but if I go back to my natural hair colour I don't think it'll work as well. Also, note about the lip butter: weirdly, it's the closest match I've ever found to the colour of my..inner lip? Not sure of the exact term, but the place where you're supposed to match your 'mlbb' lipstick colour to. All this time I've been wondering why you could always SEE that I was wearing something, turns out I just needed a sheer warm red lipstick. If I dab it on, it's like the colour my lips would have been had they not been cruelly deprived of pigment..genetically.

look at the pretty sparkles! ignore my weird skin!
I'm kind of in love with the Paul & Joe Eye Gloss in Nice, to be honest. It's such a gorgeous colour- lilac but it has rose-gold and sparkles that make it look so complex and pretty. Plus, the formula is good; it didn't crease at all and I didn't notice any fall out throughout the day. I'll swatch the duo properly in another post, but Drivel about Frivol has swatches of it (her post prompted me to buy it, actually).

Anyway, I'm not a huge fan of makeup look-centric posts. I prefer focusing on products and the looks you can create with certain things rather than miscellaneous FOTDs so there probably won't be many of these. I just wanted to share the prettiness of Nice and also show my face on the blog for the first time!
